​Christmas Eve carols and Mass were joyfully celebrated in the É«ÇéÖ±²¥ Chapel by a large group of old scholars and friends of É«ÇéÖ±²¥. The evening was hosted by the inimitable Mr Tony Webb and the Carols and hymns were harmonically projected by the St John's Parish choir and musicians, a large proportion of whom were old scholars or married to them.

​The final day of Term 4 for students, Friday 14 December, was an excellent day of celebration and fun. Students were involved with administration in the morning, cleaning up classrooms, cleaning out lockers, readying to take home their Christmas craft and gifts, talking to teachers about their plans for the summer break, preparing for our Advent Mass and, for many, filling up water balloons for the big game of Flags for Year 5-9 students.

Each year over one million students from more than 6300 schools in Australia and New Zealand participate in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) conducted by the University of New South Wales. ICAS are online based assessments designed to recognise and reward academic excellence. The assessments are based on the curricula for the relevant year. Students are required to demonstrate a deep, integrated, and thorough level of learning.

​Dominic Early Learning Centre, run by Discovery, held their big Christmas party last Friday, and the community enjoyed our oval, facility, tents and barbecues as well as some fabulous entertainment in jumping castles, face painting and Santa.

​On Wednesday afternoon, the Savio Centre was packed with parents, grandparents and guardians to watch the 2018 K-2 Junior Carols. The students looked absolutely adorable dressed in a variety of costumes from angels to shepherds and wise men. There was even a donkey or two.

​The P&F has finished off the year strongly with our final meeting held on Wednesday 21 November and our Christmas Dinner held on Friday 23 November. It was great to look back over the year and celebrate our achievements as a group. We are excited for next year and the upcoming AGM which will be held at our first meeting of 2019 - Wednesday 27 February 2019.

In 2015, É«ÇéÖ±²¥ had their first ever Relay for Life Team. $4000 was raised for the Cancer Council. In 2017, Dominic had over 160 students and 40 staff signed up for the Relay and we fundraised over $15,000. Now, in 2019, Dominic hopes to exceed this and our 2019 College Captains Lachlan Rowlands and Maddison Cockerill challenged the student body to raise $20,000!
